About
The Castleknock Print Blog is a online meeting point for the local citizens of Castleknock to discuss a range of local issues such as news, sport, community events, volunteering events, allotments, business and multimedia content. The local open media project was founded by local Castleknock resident entrepreneur Shane O'Donovan.
The site serves as a way for locals to connect online and register as members. Once registered, the user can use the forum and discussion board to post and exchange local information and ideas, network amongst themselves, promote their local business or service, connect using social network tools, collaborate on local action projects and contribute blog and also their own multimedia content. Users would be encouraged to contribute their own blog content and can rate other community content, vote on it, submit their own multimedia content and would be given feedback on this by other community users.
The best content would be selected by the overall content moderator and editor to feature in a daily e-zine sent to the in box of site subscribers and then published in a weekly newsletter distributed around the local area.
The site will make its revenue from advertising, widgets, games which are embedded where advertising revenue is shared with the game software producer, a self service facility for registered advertiser where they can edit, delete their ads and run their own private competition on the site with 'The Castleknock Print Blog' taking a hands off role.
The site also intends to run competitions on its site, and encourage user interaction with guest blog post contributors.
